Share an iCal Calendar Print

  • 166

You can share a calendar account with people who use the same CalDAV or Exchange calendar service (for example, with fellow employees at your company). For example, if you use an Exchange server at work, you can give coworkers access to your Exchange calendar account and choose whether they can only see your calendar account information or also edit it.

Give another person access to your calendar account

  1. In iCal, choose iCal > Preferences, and then click Accounts.
  2. If you have more than one calendar account, select from the Accounts list the calendar account that contains the calendars and reminder lists you want to share.

You can’t share individual calendars or reminder lists in the calendar account. All account information is shared.

  3. Click Delegation, and then click Edit.
  4. In the Manage Account Access pane, click Add (+).
  5. Type the user name of the person you want to give access to.
    • If you’re giving access to a CalDAV account, select the Allow Write checkbox if you want to let the person edit your calendars.

    • If you’re giving access to an Exchange account, select the level of access you want the person to have for the Calendar and Tasks calendars from the Calendars and Tasks columns.

See calendar accounts you’re given access to

  1. In iCal, choose iCal > Preferences, and then click Accounts.
  2. If you have more than one calendar account, select the calendar account you were given access to.
  3. If the account is an Exchange account, click Add (+), and then type the user name of the person who gave you calendar access.

If the account is a CalDAV account, the account appears in the “Accounts I can access” list.

  4. To see the account information in iCal, select the Show checkbox.
